This LIGHTtalk: Careers in Photonics is organized as accompaning event of the International Conference for Physics Students 2015 to be held in Zagreb, Croatia on 12-19 August 2015. The event will be held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Zagreb, lecture hall D1/D2 on 17 August 2015 from 21:30h to 00:00h.

The event will comprise the following speakers:

Dr. Nikola Poljak (researcher and lecturer; Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb) - Why is this night so light?

Neven Šantić (researcher; Institute of Physics) - Quantum Sensors

Nives Bonačić (popularizer and finishing masters student of pyhsics; Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb) - Experiences with presenting topics in photonics to elementary and high school students

Tena Dubček (researcher; Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb) - Light and Quantum Simulation

Boris Štromar (accomplished amateur astronomer and popularizer) - Light Pollution
Dr. Marinko Jablan (researcher and lecturer; Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb) - Nonlinear Quantum Optics in Graphene

Luana Lojić (visual artist working with light; art collective Ljubavnice) & Darko Vuöak (researcher and lecturer; Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb) - Hommage to Onon KuËera; Short Overview
